When I saw a woman sweeping her balcony, I knew I had to back up and grab a quick photo so I could sketch the scene once I got back home.
This, to me, is Portugal in a single shot.
From the colorful tiles on the house and the potted plants lining stairs (so typical!) to the slated window shutters, the terracotta roof tiles and the daily sweeping, so much of this is a common sight here in Portugal.
I took a photograph to work from that included my sideview mirror, so I could show you at the same time what the rest of this little village looks like.
More of my little illustrations about daily life in Portugal are coming soon ~ please subscribe so you don’t miss any! (Subscribing is free, unless you feel like paying ☺️)
