A scene from early March ~ Senhor Manual and Senhor Antonio and the empty wine jugs they trundled up in their wheelbarrow to wash at the fonte near the chapel.
My neighbor Jacqueline says that while much of the water from these fountains is no longer fit for human consumption, some of the older folks still use them for washing out their wine bottles so they can be re-used to hold last year's wine still in the barrels.
