Thanks, Christine! I think it may take me a while to untangle this, but that's half the fun 😅

Such a nice post. I've been trying to untangle the old diaper--

As I think about it, old diaper is fralda velha. So make that (word) da velha. Something of the old lady. _____ of the old lady, it's me. Could make sense, maybe? She's talking about her mom . . . something something.

Could it be that she saw the flowers called fraldas da velha?

I also think that it is about flowers, these particular ones are everywhere these days.

Not sure, we were not really in a flower situation but I guess anything's possible.

What a great story! I’m laughing at what must have been happy confusion. Yep, you are definitely part of the village community. And leaving the translation app on was brilliant, even if adding to the confusion.

Thanks for the laugh. I am struggling through my latest Portuguese lessons. The fact that you can grab context from a stream of Portuguese is awe-inspiring!

What a great story! I love that you are able to help your neighbors. I am hopeful of eventually getting to that level in my community. (I’m still the outsider.) And, I love the Google Translation. We’ve used that often and laugh at its results when trying to translate a conversation.
